The much anticipated trailer of The Bengal Files has finally been released and it truly leaves audiences with an unsettling sense of fear. Following The Tashkent Files and The Kashmir Files, this is the third installment directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri.
The trailer opens with disturbing visuals of Bengal in flames, from the burning idol of Durga Maa to blood-soaked scenes that highlight its devastation. Agnihotri’s narrative calls Bengal the lighthouse of India, showcasing its cultural and historical richness before presenting the tragedy that destroyed its legacy.
Veteran actor Anupam Kher takes on the role of Mahatma Gandhi while Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Simratt Kaur, Darshan Kumarr and several Bengali actors join the cast. The screenplay is written and directed by Agnihotri and produced by Abhishek Agarwal, Pallavi Joshi and Vivek himself.
The trailer also highlights unresolved conflicts and the horrifying impact of Partition, revealing how brutal those times were. With visuals that look frighteningly real, the film intends to evoke deep emotions and shock the audience with its raw intensity.
Just like Agnihotri’s earlier films, The Bengal Files carries a haunting message through powerful storytelling. With gripping visuals, strong performances and impactful direction, this film is all set for its theatrical release on September 5, 2025.
