In another major jolt to Hindi film industry, veteran actor and legend, Rishi Kapoor has passed away. He was 67 years old and is survived by a wife and two kids. One of them is the now reigning star, Ranbir Kapoor.
Rishi Kapoor has not been feeling well for the past few days and has been admitted in the hospital on April 29th, 2020. Today (April 30th), he has breathed his last fighting the ailment. In 2018, Rishi Kapoor was diagnosed with cancer. He was immediately taken to the US for treatment and spent a year there. Rishi Kapoor returned to India in September 2019.
Since Rishi Kapoor’s return to India, there have been several updates regarding his heath until the fatality, now. A long friend, family relative and co-star in many blockbusters, another legend Amitabh Bachchan broke the news on the social media. The family, elder brother Randhir Kapoor, confirmed the passing away immediately.
Rishi Kapoor is the second son of the legend, Raj Kapoor. He made his debut as a child artiste with the movie Mera Naam Joker, for which he won National Award. A few years later he made his debut as an adult with evergreen-classic Bobby in 1973. He won the Filmfare award for Best Actor for it, as well. Since then he has been working continuously until his semi-retirement in the 90’s. He was famous for his romantic roles as an actor and was famously known as the original chocolate boy hero of India.
Rishi Kapoor then made a comeback as a character actor and showed his versatility as an actor playing many acclaimed parts. There has been no break in the second innings except for the cancer treatment. Even as late as January, earlier in the year, Rishi Kapoor has been acting, post his recovery It was his passion, and the natural ease and charm he possessed couldn’t be missed on screen.
