Wankhede, the former Narcotics Bureau officer who handled Aryan’s case, had shown no leniency then. Leaked chats between SRK and Wankhede showed SRK pleading for mercy. Many viewers now see Aryan’s mockery in the series as an act of revenge.
Feeling targeted, Sameer Wankhede has filed a defamation case. He claims the show violates his personality rights and damages his reputation. He also said his family faces online harassment and threats from SRK fans.
Supporters argue that since the show never mentioned his name, it should not be seen as defamatory. Others believe artistic freedom must have boundaries when it harms someone’s dignity or safety.
Freedom of expression is important, but using it to insult or endanger someone crosses the line.
