Big Blow for YRF: Alia’s Loss, Kartik Aaryan’s Gain

YRF’s Alpha postponed to April 17 2026

Yash Raj Films’ upcoming spy universe film Alpha was originally set for a Christmas 2025 release, but plans have changed. The film has now been postponed to April 17, 2026, as confirmed by YRF Studios.

According to the studio, the VFX work needs more time to ensure the film meets global visual standards. They stated that the team wants to deliver a high-quality cinematic experience for audiences.

Alpha stars Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, who take on Bobby Deol in this high-octane action film. The project is considered one of the most crucial entries in YRF’s spy universe, especially after the disappointing response to War 2.

The delay gives YRF time to refine the film’s cinematography, plot, and visual effects to restore the studio’s dominance in action cinema.

Interestingly, the postponement benefits Kartik Aaryan, whose rom-com Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, co-starring Ananya Panday, will now release on December 25, 2025.

The film, directed by Sameer Vidwans, was earlier scheduled for February 13, 2026, and then shifted to December 31, 2025. With Alpha vacating the Christmas weekend, the Kartik–Ananya film now enjoys a prime holiday release window, likely boosting its box office potential.

While Tu Meri Main Tera may benefit from the festive slot, YRF Studios now faces the challenge of delivering a massive comeback with Alpha in 2026.
