With horror creeping through every cracking window, the 1988 cult classic’s sequel is knocking at the doorstep.
Warner Bros released the first teaser of the sequel of 1988s Tim Burton classic “Beetlejuice” after 15 years. A movie which will be a reunion for Tim Burton, Winona Ryder, Catherine O Hara and Michael Keaton.
The set up of the teaser is remarkable in my opinion. With Jenna Ortega’s entry the whole teaser was surrounded by “Wednesday” ambiance. With the removal of that dusty sheet, Ortega presented a fresh plate for the new audience. Along with Jenna Ortega, Willem Dafoe, Justin Theroux, Arthur Conti and Monica Bellucci are the new cast for the sequel.
The movie is set in the same town as before, where Lydia is still haunted by the ghost of Beetlejuice. But, the story starts going south when Lydia’s daughter finds out the miniature model of the town in their attic, and the portal for afterlife is once again opened by accident. The wait is just for someone who will repeat the name “Beetlejuice” three times, so that the sinister monster can come back to life and start doing his mischievous works.
The teaser ends with the appearance of the monster who will announce, “The Juice is loose.”
Keaton said in an interview that the sequel is quite emotional at times which he wasn’t ready for. Others from the team are saying that the remake wasn’t really easy to put together. There is a lot going on Lydia’s life which the sequel is going to portray. Anyone who loves the character of Lydia, is going to love the sequel.
With that said, let’s sit tight for the rollercoaster ride we are going to have on September 6th, 2024. Are you ready to let the horror in?
