Aquaman is back, and he’s got a new poster that’s making waves in all the wrong directions! It’s been a whopping five years since Jason Momoa last graced our screens as the oceanic hero, and boy, has he been through some changes. Move over, dad bods; we’ve got a dad king now!
Warner Bros. Discovery seems to have let their intern run wild with the design, and the result is a poster that’s about as confusing as trying to understand the DC timeline. Momoa’s Aquaman is now a king and a father, and the poster desperately tries to convey that, but it’s more like a fish out of water than a ruler of Atlantis.
In a recent interview, Momoa declared this movie as the DCEU’s grand finale, as if they’re throwing a superhero retirement party. “It’s been 12 years, and the DCEU is at its end,” he says, probably realizing that even superheroes need a break. But hey, who knows? Maybe Aquaman will retire to a beach somewhere and open a seafood restaurant.
Directed by James Wan, this sequel promises an epic showdown with Black Manta armed with the legendary Black Trident. Because nothing says superhero battle like a fancy, mythical pitchfork. Forget the fate of the world; let’s just hope Aquaman doesn’t mess up his royal underwater beard. It’s a tough job being a king, but someone’s gotta do it!
Aquaman’s kingdom, where the stakes are high, the jokes are even higher, and the poster is the quirkiest thing since Aquaman tried talking to fish. It’s a splashy good time guaranteed, and who knows, maybe by the end, we’ll all be chanting, “Long live the ocean dad!”
