Christopher Nolan, as a big name, even in the Indian cinema market and his previous film, Oppenheimer made significant money here despite the weak reviews. So Odyssey expected to perform brilliantly at the global box office, but also in the domestic Indian market.
However, the detrimental factor here is that none of the promotional material associated with this film that has been released till now has been able to generate a positive reaction from the common public.
In fact, the makers had released the countdown trailer, a couple of days ago, and it has three times more dislikes than likes on YouTube. It is evident that the global cinema following population has started to reject this film even before the release.
The choice of visuals and the woke casting choices in the name of racial diversification have clearly not gone well with the wider audience.
