Director’s Cut Of Rebel Moon: Only Saving Grace

Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon

It could be destiny, it could be fate, but amidst all this, Zack Snyder’s latest movie fell flat, and this time, it has the potential to significantly impact the director’s career.

Snyder’s films haven’t been widely liked by casual fans, but even some hardcore fans appear a bit disappointed this time. After his departure from WB and the DCEU, fans were excited about his new Netflix partnership, reportedly giving Snyder more freedom, and two movies in the Rebel Moin franchise were on the horizon.

The hype was immense as fans showcased their love, but as the previews came out, they highlighted a specific problem. While the visuals are extravagant, the story fails to evoke any emotions.

Currently standing at 20% on Rotten Tomatoes and 6.2 on IMDb, fans are still holding onto hope as the Director’s cut was previously announced. Snyder has stated that the cut is a completely different movie, with two versions—one PG-13 and one R-rated. However, this time, it feels more like a gimmick.

Snyder expressed his intention to make it an R-rated film, but Netflix didn’t agree, citing issues of scale and cost, deeming it not 100% responsible to meet that demand. The R-rated version, drawing hardcore fans, will likely face challenges convincing regular fans to watch it.

Despite being labeled as a Christmas film, the Director’s Cut is nowhere to be seen, and that could significantly impact the numbers—a spoiler worth noting.
