An action movie based on the well-known plot from comics, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin, is being developed. The script was written by Tyler Burton Smith, who also co-wrote Boy Kills World and Child’s Play.

The movie is being produced by Walter Hamada, the former head of DC Films, through his production firm. After working his way up at New Line, Hamada was in charge of the Warner Bros. division’s horror films, which included the It and Conjuring series.

In the future New York City of Last Ronin, synthetic ninjas and the grandson of the evil Shredder eliminate the Turtles and master Splinter one by one. A single turtle barely makes it out alive and swears to take brutal revenge. The deceit of the book was that it was unclear.

Between 2020 and 2022, IDW released the comic book series The Ninja Turtles, which was written by Kevin Eastman and Tom Waltz. With the collected trade paperback ranking as the second-highest-selling graphic novel of 2023, the comics were an enormous hit.

Following its recent publication, more than 140,000 copies of the sequel, TMNT: The Last Ronin II Re-Evolution, were ordered. The series began as a black-and-white independent comic in 1984 and, in the late 1980s, saw a toy deal and a successful live-action film depicting the characters dressed in suits, which helped establish the series as a generational touchstone.
