Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire has achieved impressive global box office results. The final theatrical run was expected to bring in over $700 million, but only $550–600 million have been made, according to analysts.
Due to its low $135 million production budget, the movie must make $400 million globally in order to break even.
Following The New Empire, director Adam Wingard had three ideas for the movie: a live-action ThunderCats movie, a Face sequel, and a third MonsterVerse entry. With $350 million in total revenue, the movie has surpassed Godzilla vs. Kong’s box office haul.
Adam Wingard is the director of Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, which stars Dan Stevens as the main, Rebecca Hall as Dr. Ilene Andrews, Brian Tyree Henry as Bernie Hayes, and a supporting ensemble that includes Kaylee Hottle, Fala Chen, Alex Ferns, and Rachel House.
Madison Russell, who portrayed the title role in both Godzilla: King of the Monsters and Godzilla vs. Kong, has committed to filming The Electric State, thus her schedule will not allow her to return.
