Marvel Launches New Sub Brand For X-Men 97

Marvel-Animation--X-Men-97

Marvel Animation is gearing up for a fresh start with a highly anticipated project that will be the renewal of the famous “X-MEN ’97” cartoon from the 90s. The show will air under the new “Marvel Animation” branding that the studio will be using for a new era in its works.

The new iteration of “X-MEN ’97” offers a direct sequel to the original animated series by continuing the story up to the five seasons when the series was discontinued. There will be the return of dear characters, such as Professor X, Wolvie, Cyclops, Jean Grey, and Rogue, voiced by the original cast, once again. The trailer released a few days ago is the pure essence of its classic animation reminding us of the old issues of mutant prejudice and acceptance which are the reasons for our old nostalgia concerning the movie.

We can’t be sure if this financial risk will be repaid with a profitable outcome. The reaction to the show “What If…?” was mixed, and the cancellation of “MODOK” by some fans was also a disappointment. On the contrary, it looks more like Marvel Animation is eager to repeat its glorious past by creating a new road. The success of upcoming projects would depend on their ability to balance the nostalgic side with the creative one, and on attracting a wide range of audiences.
