Following the success of the prequel series Young Sheldon that tells the story of the early life of Sheldon Cooper, CBS is planning a spin-off that will focus on Sheldon’s older brother Georgie and his girlfriend Mandy as they become young parents.
The new show, that still has no name, will be a multi-camera comedy, unlike the single-camera show Young Sheldon. It will delve on the difficulties and pleasures of raising a family and the relationships within the Cooper family.
This spinoff idea was born from the storyline of Georgie and Mandy in the fifth and sixth seasons of Young Sheldon when they began dating and lied about their ages via started dating, lied about their ages, got pregnant, and got engaged. They named their son Constance after Georgie’s grandmother Meemaw.
Montana Jordan as Georgie and Emily Osment as Mandy are considering reprising their roles in the spin-off. Young Sheldon writers are likely to be its producers Chuck Lorre, Steve Holland and Steven Molaro, and he will also write the first episode.
