The Rock’s Unprofessionalism Costing the Studios 50 Million

Dwayne Johnson

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is one of the biggest stars in Hollywood at the moment. And with a stature like that, the tantrums come as a package. The recent story came from the set of “Red One,” starring Ryan Reynolds and Dwayne Johnson. As per the reports, there has been some bickering among the two. According to sources, Johnson would consistently show up late on the set. Costing precious hours. Sometimes up to 7 to 8 hours.

Furthermore, Johnson would often refuse to work more than 4 to 5 hours. Consequentially, the shoots have been delayed. Wasting not only the crew’s but also his co-star’s time. Johnson has a track record of interfering with the making of the movies he stars in. A similar case was “Black Adam,” where his production house, “Seven Bucks,” struck a deal with the studio, and what followed was a series of interferences accommodating the needs and demands of the former wrestling star.

As of now, the feud has subsided between the stars. However, what is important is that the delays caused by Dwayne Johnson have led to a spike in the budget for Red One. The delays have cost the studio an extra $50 million. What’s amusing is that Netflix and Amazon MGM have denied the claims, calling The Rock “a professional.”
