Ever since the trailer of the upcoming film Monkey Man came out, it has created a sensation everywhere. Fans in India are also waiting keenly for the release of the movie which is inspired by the legend of the Hindu God Hanuman. Unfortunately, this wait might get a little longer as the release of the film is likely to be postponed in India.
The Slumdog Millionaire fame, Dev Patel, is making his directorial debut with Monkey Man. The film is set to hit the big screens on the 4th of April internationally. In India, the movie was set to be released on the 19th of April but it has not yet received clearance from the CBFC.
There’s some uncertainty around when or if the movie gets clearance. The Indian censor board is infamous for playing the role of ‘final editor’ and is likely to recommend many cuts for approval. Monkey Man is an intense action film with lots of violence and bloodshed.
The movie could be released only after Universal approves the changes and the film receives clearance. The fans who were waiting to watch the film on a big screen are likely to get disappointed after hearing this news.
