Tollywood is set for a big-league second half as multiple Telugu biggies are lined up for release. Here is a look into the multiple biggies that are lined up for release in the final six months of 2024.
The lineup starts with Prabhas and Nag Aswhin’s Kalki 2898AD which is the costliest Indian film to release. This film is set for release on the 9th of May, as things stand. The big-ticket futuristic sci-fi thriller has several stars like Kamal Haasan, Amitabh, Deepika Padukone and others in the lead roles. If it garners the right talk, the pan-Indian prospects are very bright.
Then there is Pushpa 2 with the sequel advantage. The rustic action is announced for release on the 15th of August. Given the sequels trend in India, the box office prospects of Pushpa 2 are so high that it could be one of the 1000 crore grossers in India if the talk is good.
Balayya’s NBK109 with Bobby is releasing in mid 2024. It is a regional film but the prospects are good as Balayya is in good form with back to back hits like Akhanda and Veera Simha Reddy.
Then there’s Pawan Kalyan’s OG which is one of the better hyped regional films. This actioner is set for release on the 27th of September and it is the most anticipated film in Pawan’s lineup. Pawan’s fans are extremely hopeful of the Sujeeth directorial.
Jr NTR and Koratala Siva’s Devara have newly locked a new date, 10 October. The pan-Indian biggie is NTR’s immediate next film after RRR. The scale of the project is evidently big and the action part will be its USP. The stakes are high on this Koratala Siva directorial as he is raring to make a comeback after Acharya.
Lastly, there is Ram Charan’s Game Changer which has been in production for much longer than expected. The chances are that it might release this December. Though Shankar’s recent form has been inconsistent, if he can deliver a winning social drama, it can be a winning pan-Indian follow-up for Charan after RRR.
As a whole, there are 6 big-ticket projects, with four of them being pan-Indian biggies lined up for release in the last six months of 2024. Tollywood has a big closing to 2024 to look up to, we must say, given what is at stake with these biggies.
