Director of highly popular musical film Aashiqui 2, Mohit Suri, is back again with a new film called Ek Villain. The film has been in news ever since its launch because of the fresh pairing of young heartthrobs Siddharth Malhothra and Shraddha Kapoor. Many expected the director to repeat the Aashiqui magic once again with a new casting but the director surprised one and all when the trailers hit the air waves.
Soon after a different problem emerged though as the trailer revealed a strikingly similar plot-line to a Korean revenge thriller I Saw The Devil. Immediately, everything in Ek Villain started to make sense and lots of people started accusing the director of copying a foreign film. However the director blatantly refused to accept that there is any copying.
If one goes into past one would realize that this isn’t the first time Mohit Suri has faced plagiarism charges, his past few films too have been labeled as copies. Wonder if the director realizes that he isn’t doing himself favor by staying stubborn about copying stuff in this day and age when everyone has access to the originals.
