Veteran Telugu actor and producer GV Narayana Rao has passed away at the age of 73. He had been suffering from health issues for some time.
Narayana Rao made his debut in K Balachander’s Anthuleni Katha in 1976. The film became an important beginning for him, and he later appeared in several films as a hero and character artist. He was also honoured with a Nandi Award for his performance in the film.
He worked in movies including Muthyala Pallaki, Chilakamma Cheppindi and Oka Oori Katha. Narayana Rao was particularly close to Rajinikanth. Both were students at the Madras Film Institute before starting their film careers. He also shared a strong bond with Chiranjeevi and worked with him in several films.
He later entered film production and was associated with movies such as Devanthakudu and Yamudiki Mogudu. Narayana Rao continued to appear in films and television over the years. He had been away from the limelight for some time, but his passing has now brought back memories of his long association with Telugu cinema.
