In the film industry, it’s common for celebrities to change the spellings of their names or even their entire names to achieve greater success in their careers.

Director Puri Jagannath’s son Akash Puri decided to change his name to Akash Jagannath. On the occasion of his birthday today, he took to Instagram to share the news and wrote, ” There is a change in my name; it’s no longer Akash Puri, I am now AKASH JAGANNADH.”
Akash made his debut as a child actor with the 2007 film Chirutha. Later, he was seen in various films like Bujjigadu, Dhoni, Ek Niranjan, Businessman and Gabbar Singh.

Given his popularity as a child artist, Akash made his debut as a lead hero with the 2015 film Andhra Pori. It couldn’t do well at the box office.
He later came up with Mehbooba, which was directed by his father Puri Jagannath. Even this movie faced a similar fate and ended up as a failure.

The same was the case with his next two films, Romantic and Chor Bazaar. After Chor Bazaar’s failure in 2022, Akash took a long break.
He is expected to make a comeback soon with his new film under his new name. We have to see if the change in his name will change his fate in the Telugu film industry.
