14 Reels Entertainment was a sensation when they arrived in Tollywood. They forayed into Tollywood with Namo Venkatesha. The NRI producers – Ram Achanta, Gopi Achanta, and Anil Sunkara made heads roll when they bagged a big hit with Mahesh Babu’s Dookudu.
They were into distribution as well and they had so much success initially. Every hero wanted to do a film with them.
But one miscalculation changed everything. They produced 1-Nenokkadine with Mahesh Babu and Sukumar on a lavish scale. They trusted their product so much and released the film on their own. They lost big money on it.
They bagged a success with Balakrishna’s Legend but it was not enough to cover their losses. They tried their luck once again, the third time with Mahesh Babu with Aagadu but ended up with another disappointment.
They made films like Krishna Gadi Veera Prema Katha, Hyper, and LIE which only compounded their problems.
Anil Sunkara used to make films separately as well. After LIE, he started operating completely separately.
Ram Achanta and Gopi Achanta floated 14 Reels Plus Banner.
Gaddalakonda Ganesh is a decent success and Srikaram did not work well. They even had a minor tussle with Sharwanand after the movie’s release.
They were a small part of Mahesh Babu’s Sarkaru Vaari Paata as well.
Ram and Gopi are known to be the nicest people in the industry, but luck is not smiling on them yet. Their ongoing project, Tyson Naidu is also suffering from various problems and got delayed.
At this time, they got a big chance for redemption with Balakrishna and Boyapati’s Akhanda 2 which was launched today.
Akhanda was a big hit and the combination of Balayya and Boyapati is a hot cake in the trade.
Devotional element films are a rage across the country now. Akhanda was a big commercial hit in Telugu but Hindi markets were not so open back then. The movie, moreover, was released very early after the COVID. Hindi markets were not ready yet.
But the movie later got a good reception on Television and OTT in Hindi. So, Akhanda 2 is a big chance for the redemption of Ram Achanta and Gopi Achanta in all possible ways.
