Akhanda 2 vs OG: Balayya’s Favor to Pawan Kalyan?

Akhanda 2 postponed for OG release

Until recently, cine fans were gearing up for a Mega vs Nandamuri clash at the box office. Akhanda 2 was announced for September 25, the same date as Pawan Kalyan’s OG. The hype was building for a massive showdown.

In a surprising twist, the Akhanda 2 team stepped back. Production house 14 Reels cited technical delays and unfinished post-production work as the reason. While speculation had been strong, this official confirmation has now ended weeks of uncertainty.

Trade circles had long predicted this outcome, though the Akhanda team kept dismissing talk of postponement. Now, fans believe Nandamuri Balakrishna may have vacated the date to favour Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan, especially after setbacks like Hari Hara Veera Mallu.

With the change, OG is set for a grand solo release. The buzz is unmatched compared to recent Pawan Kalyan films. Theatres earlier blocked for Akhanda 2 are moving to OG, while overseas bookings and fan merchandise are already gaining strong momentum.

Meanwhile, Akhanda 2’s new release date remains undecided. With Prabhas’ Raja Saab vacating December 5, industry talk suggests Nandamuri Balakrishna and Boyapati Sreenu may target that slot. Boyapati is reportedly overseeing VFX to make the film even bigger than Akhanda.

For now, all attention is on OG. With just weeks left for release, fans are counting down eagerly. The solo Dussehra slot has raised expectations, and many believe OG could deliver career-best openings for Pawan Kalyan.
