After 10 years Mahesh Babu’s ‘Okkadu’ being remade into Hindi, itself speaks the evergreen contemporary feel attached to the subject. That is one film which is very close to Mahesh Babu as this film him earned him stardom as a larger than life hero. And Arjun Kapoor who is playing the lead in remake ‘Tevar’ accepts that he cannot be Mahesh Babu anyway.
Arjun opines that since Mahesh Babu is a big star, he playing the larger than life character is understandable but coming to him it wouldn’t be reliable to sport the same image as Mahesh Babu. Though in ‘Tevar’ there aren’t any changes to the original material, change in performances would certainly be seen as he is more like a boy next door unlike Mahesh’s larger than life persona.
Arjun words speak a lot about his understanding the character and taking it in his own stride. Want to do something original of his kind and resisting from copying Mahesh’s Babu’s style is something to look out for in the upcoming ‘Tevar’. Telugu audiences would certainly hold interest on how Mahesh’s character shaped up going for a remake after so many years.
