The Telugu OTT audience are in for a dry and dull phase in the next few weeks as there are no new notable releases that can rake up the anticipation and hype.
The only mention-worthy Telugu film that is arriving on OTT is Mishan Impossible (29 April – Netflix) and this film had also garnered very weak reviews. So, there is not a lot of excitement surrounding its OTT premieres.
Then there are a few Telugu dubbed English films like Uncharted (28 April – Book My Show), and The Matrix Resurrections (12 May Amazon), but these films don’t appeal much to the vast majority of the Telugu audience.
This bad phase for the Telugu OTT audience will continue till recent theatrical biggies RRR and KGF 2 arrive on OTT. While KGF 2 will arrive on Amazon Prime Video, RRR’s South Indian language versions will arrive on ZEE5.
It is heard that KGF 2 might arrive on Amazon in the last week of May, but this is just a speculation. RRR will also have a delayed OTT release. All things combined, there is not a lot happening in the OTT space for the Telugu audience for now.
