Nandamuri Balakrishna suffered an injury during the shooting of NBK111 and is currently under medical care at AIG Hospitals.
According to the hospital’s medical bulletin, preliminary evaluation has revealed a localized collection of blood, inflammation around his left knee, and a possible muscle tear. Balakrishna is undergoing detailed clinical and diagnostic tests under the supervision of orthopedic specialists. Doctors have confirmed that his condition is stable and that a final treatment plan will be decided after the ongoing evaluation.
Industry reports suggest that he is expected to undergo surgery either tonight or tomorrow morning, followed by around six weeks of complete bed rest.
For now, Balakrishna’s health is the top priority, and taking adequate rest is essential for a full recovery.
The film was reportedly targeting a December release. But if Balakrishna remains away from shooting for nearly six weeks, the production schedule is likely to be affected. Even after he recovers, the team will have to reorganize artists’ call sheets and rework combination scenes, which is never an easy task on a big-budget film.
If the delay extends beyond the current estimates, the makers may have to consider postponing the release to Sankranti 2027 or even summer. At the same time, it is still too early to rule out a December release. If Balakrishna recovers faster than expected, the production could still get back on track with only minor adjustments.
The delay, if it happens, is also expected to push back Balakrishna’s next film with Koratala Siva, which was scheduled to begin after NBK111.
Interestingly, Balakrishna has largely avoided major shooting injuries over the past several years despite performing demanding action sequences. Reports suggest the accident happened unexpectedly when he lost his balance during filming.
The good news is that doctors have described his condition as stable. Fans across the country will now be hoping for a speedy recovery, with several film personalities, including Jr NTR and Pawan Kalyan, already wishing him well on social media. Right now, Balakrishna’s recovery is far more important than any release date.
