Bhumika Chawla’s appearance in Indian Badminton League added glamour to the event. Normally film heroes and heroines cheer their fans by appearing in cricket tournaments. But Bhumika proves that she is different from others and encouraged her friends cum players Gopichand and Saina Nehwal in IBL, while remembering her experience with racket in school and college days.
Bhumika, 35 years old, says games and sports must be part and parcel in school syllabus to make youngsters fit physically and mentally. Bhumika who started her career with ‘Yuvakudu’ starring with Sumant came to limelight with Mahesh Babu’s Okkadu movie. After marrying Bharat Thakur in 2007, she settled down in Bangalore. She recently bought a villa with Rs.6 crore and happily enjoying her family life in the Garden City.
