Veteran film director SV Krishna Reddy is seriously trying for a come back in Telugu, according to Tollywood sources. He has recently prepared a few scripts and searched for producers as his friend K.Acchi Reddy is in deep financial crisis.
The banner RR Movie Makers which helped SVK previously is not in a position to extend financial support at this juncture. Last year, SVK has remade his Telugu Aahvanam movie starring Srikanth and Ramyakrishna into ‘Divorce Invitation’ but it was not taken seriously in Hollywood.
SVK created sensation with comedy and family oriented movies such as Kobbaribondam, Mayalodu, Rajendrudu Gajendrudu, Subhalagnam, Mavichiguru and others. His movie Sardukupodam Randi which released in 2000 fetched respectable collections but almost all the movies in the new decade failed at the box office.
Producers who used to queue up before SVK’s house are not keen to do experiments with his stories now. However SVK has not lost faith in him and wants to give a big hit like Bhimineni Srinivasa Rao who could get back his glory with Sudigadu movie last year despite many disasters in his career. But we will have to see if SVK can repeat his style magic on screen.
