The ongoing tussle between Censor board and Bollywood film industry took a new turn yesterday as all the top producers from the industry decided to meet Information and Broadcasting Minister, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore. They expressed their concerns about the current handling by Pahlaj Nihlani and wanted him to be removed.
Senior producer Mukesh Bhatt led from the front through producers association and brought people like Aamir Khan, Vishal Bharadwaj, Raju Hirani etc together to have a talk with the minister. They explained the problems in details and presented few ideas to which the minister is reported to have responded positively. Rajyavardhan Singh had in the end said that Censor board is for rating a movie and not censoring as they see fit in a blatant way.
In the recent past the board is facing lot of heat for the issues related to the movie NH10 and word Bombay which was banned. Not only that the board had provided a list of such words which are not to be used in movies. All of that led to this desperation move by Bollywood fraternity which was feeling threatened with each passing day.
