Naidu's dream project gets a start date

The project aims at providing every household in the state with Internet, TV and telephone services at doorstep for a very affordable prices.

The Fiber Grid works in Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts by December and in the remaining 10 districts by March 2016. The first phase of the project will be costing 333 Crore and AP is the first state to start works on Fiber Grid in the country.

The state is laying cables covering a distance of about 30,000 km, using the existing 3.5 Lakh electricity poles. The 2500 sub stations in the state will be mapped using GIS at the earliest. As part of this project, nearly 2600 Point of Presence have to be established across the State. Power, INCAP, fibre grid authorities are working together on this project.
