Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava is set to release in Telugu tomorrow, marking a significant moment for Telugu-speaking audiences.
The film, which chronicles the life of the legendary Maratha warrior Sambhaji Maharaj, has already made waves in Hindi, raking in a staggering 600 crores worldwide gross.
With over 550+ screens allocated for its Telugu release via Geetha Film Distribution, expectations are high. The Telugu trailer has garnered nearly 5 million views and is trending online.
Lead actor Vicky Kaushal expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming demand for a Telugu release, stating that he hopes the film resonates with the audience and showcases the courage and sacrifice of Sambhaji Maharaj.
However, controversy has emerged in Andhra Pradesh. The Andhra Pradesh Muslim Federation has urged the Nellore district collector to halt the film’s release, citing concerns over communal tensions.
Federation president Zia-ul-Haq claimed that Chhaava has already sparked unrest in North India and could lead to similar disturbances in Andhra Pradesh. He emphasized the need to prevent any law and order issues by stopping the movie’s release in the state.
Such controversies sometimes turn out to be a blessing for the film as people get curious to know what the movie is all about.
As of now, Chhaava is set to get a decent opening but if some controversy erupts, the film might gain even more hype and perform very well in Telugu markets.
