The intense union drama rocking Tollywood has finally drawn to a close. The Telugu Film Employees Federation officially lifted its non-cooperation ban against popular choreographer Jani Master after an emergency mediation session.
The dispute began when friction erupted between the Dancers’ Association, headed by Jani Master’s wife, Sumalatha, and the central Film Federation. Allegations surfaced regarding internal irregularities and the handling of union funds.
When Jani Master publicly accused certain federation members of interfering in association matters and protecting suspended individuals, the Federation responded swiftly. Citing disciplinary violations, they issued a show-cause notice and announced a boycott across all 24 crafts.
Realizing that an all-out strike or boycott would paralyze ongoing film shoots, industry heavyweights stepped in to broker peace. Senior figures Megastar Chiranjeevi and Nandamuri Balakrishna actively intervened to de-escalate the tension.
Balakrishna, who was shooting in Kakinada, personally called key representatives from the Producers Council, urging them to settle the conflict amicably so that daily wage dancers and workers wouldn’t suffer.
Following a detailed explanation submitted by Jani Master and Sumalatha, Federation President Vallabhaneni Anil confirmed that the leadership was satisfied with the clarifications provided.
The non-cooperation order was formally withdrawn, with assurances that the Dancers’ Association will continue operating under Sumalatha’s leadership while internal reforms are addressed during an upcoming general body meeting.
