Biggest BO Clash: Huge Surprise or Massive Shock?

Coolie and War 2 box office battle

Tomorrow is set to bring one of the biggest box office clashes in years as Coolie and War 2 release together. Exhibitors, hoping for a major hit, are energised by the arrival of films starring Jr. NTR, Hrithik Roshan, Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, and Aamir Khan.

Advance bookings show Coolie leading War 2 on BookMyShow. Lokesh Kanagaraj’s filmmaking style, a star-packed cast, Pooja Hegde’s popular song, and Anirudh’s upbeat soundtrack have created strong buzz. War 2’s momentum in Telugu states is driven mainly by Jr. NTR’s fan following.

The real test starts with tomorrow’s first shows. Overseas, Coolie has already crossed $2 million in the US, with War 2 following close behind. In North India, the Hrithik Roshan–NTR pairing is yet to spark massive excitement, though bookings are improving.

Trade experts predict Hindi collections for War 2 may settle around ₹35 crore instead of the earlier ₹50 crore estimate. In Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, War 2 is drawing average interest in smaller centres, while Coolie has been embraced as a local favourite.

Nationwide, theatres are expected to be packed thanks to the Independence Day holiday. Despite higher ticket rates in Andhra Pradesh, strong buzz usually convinces fans to pay more. Coolie targets a ₹90 crore Telugu gross, while War 2 aims for ₹180 crore.

This clash promises a massive revenue surge. While early trends give Coolie the advantage, both films will rely heavily on audience response after the premiere shows to decide which one ultimately claims the box office crown.
