The name Premam has been heard so many times in the past year that just its mention is enough for people to get an idea regarding its status as a film. It is one of the biggest Malayalam success stories in recent past outside Kerala.

It isn’t therefore any surprise that the film is getting remade in Telugu. But here we have a different topic. Recently the Kerala State Film Awards have been announced and surprisingly this cult blockbuster failed to grab even one award. This has led to widespread criticism on the jury which decided to award the films.
Some popular film industry names too expressed shock and surprised. Director AR Murugadoss even went ahead and said it was not fair. A Telugu remake of the film starring Naga Chaitanya is going to arrive this summer.
