Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur’s Dacoit, which spent a long time in production has finally released and is receiving mixed reviews from both critics and audiences.
However, one thing is unanimous. Mrunal Thakur walks away with most of the credit. She clearly dominates Adivi Sesh in terms of performance and screen presence, according to both critics and general viewers.
Interestingly, Shruti Haasan was originally cast in the role, but was later replaced by Mrunal Thakur due to undisclosed reasons. In hindsight, that decision seems to have worked in the film’s favor. Many feel that without Mrunal, the response to the film could have been even weaker.
Mrunal’s performance and strong screen presence have significantly helped the film. She has been quite selective with her Telugu projects. Apart from Vijay Deverakonda’s disaster movie Family Star, her films like Sita Ramam and Hi Nanna have earned her immense goodwill. With Dacoit now added to the list, her popularity in Telugu cinema is clearly on the rise.
