After the recent sad news about the Bollywood actress Jiah Khan’s suicide all the other similar are cases are coming into the limelight. The southern film industry has its own share of mysterious deaths and suicides. Part of being an actor means that one needs to have the patience and persistence to make it work but these celebrities gave up and let it go.

The list comprises of some very famous ones while some who were just beginning their careers. Actress Divya Bharti, who debuted in the film industry with the Telugu film ‘Bobbili Raja’ and managed to become an overnight star. The actress was very famous and successful however the tragic news of her death was heard on April 5, 1993, the cause being fall from the five-storied apartment she stayed in and it was speculated that it was suicide.
Actress Vijayalakshmi popularly called as Silk Smitha was also a highly successful actress in Southern film industry. But the actress was also discovered dead at her Chennai residence, reasons being financial problems, alcoholism and an unsuccessful love life. There are many others on this list which includes Bhargavi, Pratyusha, Alphonsa and Aarti Agarwal.
