Viswaksen_Das_Ki_Dhamki_MovieVishwak Sen is one of the few actors in the Telugu film industry who has a formidable fan following among the masses and youth. He is one of those stars who have a rare connection with his core audience.

This fact is again proved by the openings of his latest film, Das Ka Dhamki. The film was released on a Wednesday, on the Ugadi festival day. The film got solid openings not only in the Telugu states but also in the US.

However, after the strong first day, the collections came down heavily. In the US, the first two-day collections were good, but then there was no weekend growth which is usually there for every other film. Friday and Saturday collections are not even 50% percent of premiere day gross.

In Telugu states, the collections went into dead sleep mode, after an encouraging start on the first day. The film was also projected as his first pan-India movie but outside the Telugu states no one even knows that this film even exists.

This means the audience is there for Vishwak Sen who is excited to watch his film, but the mediocre content is pulling his films down. There are many heroes in Tollywood who struggle to get the audience to come to the theaters to watch their films on the opening day, but Vishwak Sen has that pull to draw the audiences but his poor choice of scripts is acting as a deterrent.

Besides acting as the hero, Vishwak Sen also produced and directed the film. At such a young age, it is better for him to concentrate on selecting good scripts and focus on giving his best performance. He should avoid venturing into other areas of filmmaking and putting additional pressure and burden on himself.
