Though originally Vijay starrer ‘Theri’ was scheduled for releasing this April, the makers are keen on advancing the date and release it a couple of months before. The reason behind this advancement seems to be the elections to take place in Tamil Nadu in April, 2016.

Releasing a big film is suicidal admist election humdrum, especially for a Vijay’s film. The star hero had felt Amma’s (CM Jayalalitha) heat already and we know how there had been income raids on the actor, the producer and others before the release of ‘Puli’.
To avoid any such occurrence and also due to the need of the hour of the producer Kalaipuli Thanu regarding releasing Rajnikanth’s ‘Kabali’ in May, Vijay’s ‘Theri’ might arrive very soon. Hence we can expect a release trailer of the film this Republic day.
