Mani Ratnam has not had a big success in a very long time and what was worse is that his last few films have been huge disasters at the box office. With the commercial standing of the director hitting rock bottom the director planned a massive comeback with a big budget commercial entertainer starring Telugu heroes Mahesh Babu and Nagarjuna. Somehow the project failed to materialize and now it’s been shelved as no one else showed interest in it.

With such dejection the director has changed his plans completely and decided to make a completely new and commercially viable safe project in his strength genre. The director known for great urban romances is once again going to direct one after a long gap of almost a decade. The film will star Dulquer Salman, son of Malayalam star Mammootty in the lead. Current teen sensation Alia Bhatt is reportedly being considered as heroine for this project which is expected to go onto sets by the end of the year. Let’s see if this project gives him the desired success or not.
