Now that the dust has settled, the Devara trailer has received mixed reactions, ranging from great to not-so-great. However, if we observe the trend with event films, almost every big-ticket film’s first trailer gets similar reactions.
For instance, the Salaar team had to release two trailers because the first one received mixed, even negative, feedback. But the second trailer worked in favor of the film, and it became a major success for Prabhas.

Another recent example is Prabhas’s Kalki 2898 AD. When the first trailer was released, many criticized its VFX, but the team later released a more action-packed trailer, which improved its reception.
Coming back to Devara, the initial mixed response to the trailer is not a major concern. The film is mounted on a large scale, with a unique setting (water-based), and features grand action sequences—elements that tend to attract audiences to theaters. Salaar and Kalki 2898 AD are similar examples that performed well at the box office despite mixed initial reactions.

For Devara, we’ll have to wait and see how the theater response pans out, but the current trailer feedback is not a worry for the team at this point.
