Yatra and NTR Mahanayakudu are two politically loaded biopics that are slated to arrive in February. Earlier they were planned to come within a day’s gap, but now the release of Mahanayakudu has been postponed by a week. Did this move kill the already low on buzz Yatra?
When two films featuring the icons of two opposition political parties were positioned to come one after other, it would lead to a lot of talk regarding the clash. NTR Mahanayakudu wouldn’t have needed it, but Yatra has a lot to gain. With the delay that is not a promotional option now.
Still, we have seen recently how NTR Kathanayakudu despite the best promos failed to catch the imagination of the viewers. So, ultimately it will be about the content and how engagingly that is presented. If Yatra has that “content”, it will run well through word of mouth. Let us see if that is the case or if it gets faded from public memory without making any mark? Yatra releases on February 8th. The movie stars Mammootty in the lead and is directed by Mahi V Raghav.
