Teja’s son Amitov Tej has reportedly been duped of Rs 72 lakh by a couple. The alleged fraud was carried out in the name of online trading.
According to reports, the couple convinced Amitov Tej that he could make quick money through trading. Trusting their claims, he invested a large amount expecting returns.
After the investment, the couple initially avoided his calls. Soon after, they changed their phone numbers and disappeared completely.
Realising that he had been cheated, Amitov Tej approached the police. A case was filed at the Jubilee Hills police station, and an investigation is currently underway.
Police have registered cases under the IT Act and for cheating. Efforts are being made to trace the accused couple.
Amitov Tej is set to be launched as an actor by his father Teja in an upcoming film. Ghattamaneni Bharati is likely to play the female lead opposite him.
It is also reported that Amitov Tej received acting training abroad. So far, veteran director Teja has not issued any statement regarding the fraud case.
