Fake Trading Website: Hyd Investor Loses 8 Crores

Hyderabad businessman stock market scam

A 55-year-old businessman from Hyderabad lost ₹7.88 crore in a large-scale stock market scam.

In July 2025, two individuals, Satyanarayana and Vaishali, contacted him on WhatsApp, posing as stock market advisors. They shared a link to a fake trading website finalto-indus.com claiming it was a UK–India investment platform.

To build trust, they asked him to start small with an investment of ₹45,000. Soon after, they showed a fake 15% profit and even allowed him to withdraw ₹8,600, convincing him the platform was genuine.

Over the next two months, from July 25 to September 30, the businessman made 103 transactions, transferring money from his HDFC, Canara Bank, and SBI accounts to 35 accounts across 10 states. By the end of September, his trading account falsely displayed ₹11 crore in profits.

When he tried to withdraw his funds, the scammers demanded ₹3 crore as tax payment. Realizing he had been duped, the businessman filed a complaint on October 5.

Police have registered a cybercrime case, and the Telangana Cyber Security Bureau has launched an investigation. A similar scam recently targeted a Hyderabad software engineer, raising concerns about the growing number of online investment frauds.
