New Year started with several announcements from the cinema industry and the biggest surprise of them all is certainly about the sequel of a blockbuster movie, ‘Drishyam’. The makers released the teaserof the prequel ‘Drishyam 2’ at midnight with a big announcement.
The sequel is going for a direct OTT release on Amazon Prime Video. No one expected a big film starring superstar Mohanlal to opt for a direct digital release. The first part that was a blockbuster in Malayalam was remade into several languages including Hindi and all the remakes were as successful as the original.
So, if the second parties going fora direct release on OTT, then there is no chance that it would be remade into other languages. It’s because Amazon Prime will be releasing the film in multiple audios for different languages.
Looks like even after considering the fact, the makers chose for a direct digital release on Prime. No doubt, it’s a big surprise and one look at the teaser with the tag, ‘The resumption’ says that the second part is going to be as intriguing as the first part.
