Telugu audiences may be in for a disappointment, as reports suggest that Venkatesh has stepped away from the Drishyam franchise for now, putting the Telugu version of Drishyam 3 in doubt. While the Malayalam and Hindi versions have already locked their release dates, there has been no official update on the Telugu adaptation.
The Drishyam franchise is a proven brand across industries. The Malayalam original stars Mohanlal, the Telugu remake features Venkatesh, and the Hindi version is led by Ajay Devgn. All three versions have been major successes, which is why the absence of clarity around the Telugu third part has surprised fans.
In Malayalam, Drishyam 3 has been officially announced for an April 2 theatrical release. The Hindi version is set to arrive on October 2. However, there is no buzz or confirmation yet regarding the Telugu version. Earlier, Venkatesh himself had mentioned that Drishyam 3 was part of his future lineup, but recent reports indicate that he is not taking it up at this point.
At present, Venkatesh is busy with AK 47 directed by Trivikram Srinivas. After completing that, he is expected to reunite with Anil Ravipudi for another project, reportedly aimed at a Sankranthi 2027 release. Because of these commitments, fans feel the Telugu version of Drishyam 3 may be put on hold or even shelved.
That said, there is still a small window of hope. Drishyam 3 does not require an extended shooting schedule, so it is technically possible for Venkatesh to fit it in between other projects. For now, everything remains uncertain, and fans are waiting for an official word to know whether Drishyam 3 will continue its journey in Telugu cinema.
