Mohanlal and director Jeetu Joseph are a blockbuster combo and whenever they team up, there is an excitement level that develops among the audience. Now they have teamed up for a Malayalam film titled 12th Man.
The film is out on Hotstar and has been received with a mixed response. The OTT word mouth is ‘passable’ but everyone expected another kick-ass thriller from this combo which had given solid hits like the Drishyam series in the past.
Surprisingly, 12th Man did not have a great hype when the trailer came out. So the buzz wasn’t so great even before it started streaming. Naturally not many knew about it and now that it is out, the response is not that great at the same time it is not bad.
The film has a screenplay by K. R. Krishna Kumar and is based on a story by Sunir Khetarpal. The film stars Mohanlal, with Unni Mukundan, Sshivada, Anusree, Anu Sithara, Saiju Kurup, Rahul Madhav, and Aditi Ravi in key roles.
