Feb 2025 Tollywood Box Office Thandel Pattudala, Dilruba, Laila

Usually, February is regarded as a dry season for Tollywood as the theatrical returns and revenues are not particularly great in this month. Peak academic curriculum in educational institutions are one of the contributing factors for the same.

However, this February promises to be a jampacked one for Tollywood as we have multiple new films lined up for release coming month.

The biggest name of the lot is obviously Thandel, which marks they coming together of Naga Chaitanya with director Chandoo Mondeti.

It is a fact that the hype on this film is not quite as good as what was projected in the first place when it was announced that Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi are sharing the screen. But nevertheless, this film promises to be a content driven film, and it can easily pull the audience to theatres if the word of mouth is very impressive.

Along with this primary option for the Telugu audience, we have three other tentative prospects that might work at the box office if they generate a good word of mouth.

The said films are Pattudala(Vidaa Muyarchi from Tamil star Ajith) which is releasing on Feb 6th. Though this one film does not have much going its way, the teaser that was released earlier promised stylish action which caters to a section of the Telugu audience and might work at a small capacity.

We then have two Telugu youngsters, Kiran Abbavaram, and Vishwak Sen, who are arriving with Dilruba and Laila respectively. Both the films are releasing on February 14 on the occasion of Valentine’s Day.

While Abbavaram is coming with a commercial love drama, Viswak is coming with water, appears to be a slapstick comedy in which he plays a female role as a cameo. He is promoting the film in his own style in a loud manner.

While it is a fact that all the mentioned releases in February are releasing with rather low hype, any of them can throw a major curve ball if they generate the right word of mouth and managed to pull audience to theatres. Naga Chaitanya has the best shot at with Thandel, it could be argued.
