Ram Charan has now become the only hero in Telugu cinema with five films crossing the 40 Cr mark at the box office. His films Magadheera, Racha, Naayak, Yevadu have previously crossed that mark and now with Govindudu Andari Vadele crossing the mark he has five films in the list, a feat that none of his contemporaries in Telugu film industry have.
After a good seven days, GAV had slipped at the ticket counter and many felt that it would be a difficult task for the film to get to the mark. There was no doubt that it would cross 40 Cr but many expected it to happen after few more days looking at the rate of drop. However the film picked up over the weekend and posted decent collections that were more than initially estimated and thus pushing the film towards 40 Cr earlier than anticipated.
Mahesh Babu is the next best in the club with three films to his name. He is followed by Pawan Kalyan and Allu Arjun with two films each. Jr NTR and Prabhas are the last one’s in the current generation with one film alone in the club. Apart from these current stars we have a film each from Nandamuri Balakrishna and SS Rajamouli crossing the landmark as well. With only handful of films from each star in this club the ‘fifer’ of Ram Charan is surely something to be celebrated. What do you say?
