The quarterly revenue, EBITDA, and profit after tax have been the highest so far in the last quarter for PVR INOX. The company has already reported the same, which has been a result of good numbers at the box office alongside other spending by consumers.
For the latest quarter, PVR INOX recorded profits worth Rs. 2,133 crores, which was a rise compared to the numbers in 2025 in the same period. The EBITDA also increased by 44%, followed by an increase in profit after tax from continuing operations by 111%.
Apart from all this, around 46.3 million people entered the company’s theatres this year, and the occupancy increased to 30.4%. While the average spending for each person has increased to Rs. 153, the average ticket prices are now worth Rs. 298.
Managing director Ajay Bijli also expressed his happiness while referring to the quarterly revenue. This has specifically resulted from India’s gross box office collections, which touched the mark of Rs. 4,443 crores in the second quarter. Notably, the first-half collections were almost Rs. 7,618 crores.
A lot of successful movies contributed to the above-mentioned numbers. This includes Spider-Man: Brand New Day, The Odyssey, Hanuman Ansh, and Mirzapur: The Movie. Notably, Jana Nayagan and Toxic also contributed, although their final results were not up to the mark.
PVR INOX has also launched 24 new screens in the first half while exiting 25 screens at the same time. The company is now planning to bring 90 to 100 more screens during the second half of the financial year.
The situation is expected to change with the arrival of other big films that have the potential to emerge as big blockbusters. The first is Ramayana, which is releasing in the upcoming week.
There are also Shah Rukh Khan’s King, Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal 5, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War. Apart from them, December will witness the arrival of three big Hollywood films – Avengers: Doomsday, Dune Part Three, and Jumanji: Open World.
As of now, trade experts have predicted collections of Rs. 500 crores or more for all the upcoming big releases. However, they stated that this will entirely depend on the content and the audience’s interest in watching the films at the same time. Let’s wait and see whether the Indian box office will witness any other bigger changes in the upcoming months.
