After Kerala, the Tamil Nadu Government has accorded permission for the post-production work of Film and TV from May 11th (Monday). The government, however, imposed restrictions on a number of people who can work and also made it mandatory for the Production house to obtain necessary permissions.
The State Government has decided to allow post-production works such as editing (maximum 5 workers), dubbing (5), computer and visual graphics (10-15), re-recording (5), sound design/ mixing (5) and digital intermediate (5). Some of the Telugu films which are under-production are also urging the Governments to allow the same.
If not allowed in a couple of weeks, some production houses are keen on delegating the work to the studios in Chennai. “We are assuming that shootings will resume in June. It will be good if we can make use of this time in finishing the post-production works,” producers opine.
TV Producers are keen on completing Post-Production works in Chennai since there is tremendous pressure on them to deliver the content. But this will be useful only to some extent. If the shootings were allowed at least with the limited cast and crew, it is almost like normalcy for the Television.
