This Friday, we witnessed nearly half a dozen new releases, including “Rules Ranjann,” “Mama Mascheendra,” “MAD,” “Month of Madhu,” “800 The Movie” (Telugu Dub), and “Siddharth’s Chinna” (Telugu Dub), trying their luck.
Surprisingly, only one film received positive reviews from web media, and word of mouth among the audience is also driving decent occupancy.
MAD, featuring unknown faces and low expectations, emerged as the week’s winner. Despite its thin plot, its unapologetic, non-stop, youthful college humor makes it an entertaining film that maintains a good pace.
The target audience, the youth, is loving it, and the buzz is spreading.
On the other hand, films like Sudheer Babu’s “Mama Mascheendra” and Kiran Abbavaram’s “Rules Ranjann” received poor reviews, while the other dubbed films faded into obscurity.
