Half Yearly Report – Baahubali 2 And TFI Shine

The first half of the year 2017 is complete and here is how the Telugu Film Industry stands. It has been quite an eventful year so far, and we have to say TFI is once again leading in overall success among all the Industries in India.

In 2017, so far, TFI has had a success every month, something that can’t be said about other industries. 2017 started with a bang with Megastar Chiranjeevi making a sensational comeback with Kahidi No 150. It is the biggest non-Baahubali success. The Sankranthi also had another senior star hero Nandamuri Balakrishna delivering a hit, Gautamiputra Satakarni. Sharwanand scored his second victory in a row for Sankranthi with Shatamanam Bhavati.

In February Nani scored his career’s biggest hit with Nenu Local. He entered 30 Cr club with the movie (not accounting for Eega). The same month saw Rana score a small success with Ghazi. March was a dull month despite the release of a biggie, Pawan Kalyan starrer Katamarayudu. Venkatesh provided respite with Guru.

And then the biggest game changer arrived in April with Baahubali 2. The film is going to be trendsetter across all the industries in India as far as setting records and creating a unifying market is concerned. It is the film which lords over everything as far as Indian cinema is concerned this year. It shattered all existing records in all the industries.

Post-Baaubali 2 all the industries struggled to rise on their feats but TFI, once again showed its appetite for movies with the success of films Rarandoi Veduka Choddam, Ami Thumi and the very latest Duvvada Jagannadham. Overall it has been a fantastic first, and with all top heroes movies lined up ahead, things are certainly looking exciting in the second half as well.
