Vijay Deverakonda impressed the audience with films like Yevade Subramanyam and Pelli Choopulu. But it was Arjun Reddy which made him a STAR and earned him cult fans.
But after that, his journey hasn’t been smooth and consistent. Except for Geetha Govindam and Taxiwala, most of his films turned out to disappointments. His last film, Liger, was a golden chance for him to make a mark on the national level, as it was pitched as his first pan-India project.
But Liger turned out to be another big disappointment which was a huge setback. He trusted Puri Jagan and put in a lot of effort and dedicated two years of the prime time of his career, but the result left him and his fans terribly disappointed.
But all is not lost, as Liger didn’t hurt Vijay Deverakonda’s star or brand value as much as it hurt the director or banner. The audience didn’t blame him much for the failure and are ready to embrace him given he delivers good entertaining films.
Vijay Deverakonda has to choose scripts and subjects wisely from here on. He has huge untapped potential and talent, which is waiting to be explored. He needs to work with directors and banners that can bring out the best in him.
Vijay Deverakonda’s next Kushi with Samantha looks promising. The film had to face delays due to various issues, including Samantha’s health. Vijay also has another exciting project lined up with Gowtam Tinnanuri who carries goodwill due to his Jersey.
